Dos Mundos Guitar Duo
Dos Mundos Guitar Duo featuring Christopher Arispe on Flamenco Guitar and Steven Sanchez on Steel String. Steven and Chris combine their contrasting musical styles playing Latin/Flamenco/Jazz inspired World Guitar music.
Steven Sanchez
Steel String Guitar
Steven has been playing guitar for over 30 years, the past 20 professionally in all styles and genres of music. He began playing Blues at the age of 14 in local clubs, being inspired and mentored by the legendary Randy Garabay and Jack Barber. His performance experience includes numerous top 40 bands such as Evolution, Seven, Nirvana (a high school band before the well-known grunge band).
While attending the University of the Incarnate Word, Steven had the pleasure of studying with world-renowned classical guitarist Willian Kanengeiser. He has also played in master classes conducted by Pepe Roero, Leo Brouwer and Sharon Isbin. His formal training was under Terry Muska Steven is currently the guitarist for Eddie and the Valiants, a local band who tributes San Antonio's "Westside Sound".
Christopher Arispe
Flamenco Guitar
Born and raised in San Antonio, music has played an integral part of Arispe’s life since he first picked up a guitar at age 15. Chris began to study Classical Guitar with Terry Muska at San Antonio College and The University of the Incarnate Word. In 2017 Arispe enrolled at Valley City State University to complete his music degree.
In 2005, Arispe began studying flamenco under Jose Perello, and subsequently learned the art from El Curro and Los Flamencos de San Antonio. He has played alongside many dance companies in the region including Los Flamencos de San Antonio, Los Flamencos de "La Chispa", Fandango Dance Company of the City of San Antonio Parks and Recreation, Image Dance Studio, Fiesta Noche del Rio and Ballet Folklorico de San Antonio.
Arispe is the former Resident Guitarist at Las Canarias in The Omni La Mansion Del Rio Hotel, on San Antonio's historic Riverwalk from 2012 to 2018. There, he continued the tradition started nearly 40 years ago by legendary Flamenco Guitarist Willie "El Curro" Champion.
